yoga sadhana

Hi all,

Our yoga practice has a special sanskrit word associated with it, Sadhana, which describes the techniques or practices that we use to move toward deeper levels of self-knowledge and awareness.

It's important to know what you want from your practice; this is called, sadhya, forming your goal. Whether it's just for your body and mind or perhaps to tap into that invisible part of yourself that is the true essence of who you are...

In order to attain this goal we need discipline, tapas, BUT this does not mean rigidity! It means that we recognise that what we are doing is important enough to be committed to. It may also mean putting up with a little hardship during the difficult and challenging times. Sticking to the path, upaya is the key to having a road map for your spiritual practice. One pearl of wisdom I can offer is that it gets a lot easier the more your practice!

There are 2 last spaces available on the new Ashtanga Basics Course starting next Wednesday, June 2nd for anyone brand new to the practice or those looking to return to their practice after a break. The sessions will be held on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 7.15am-8.15am over 4 weeks. We will cover the basic fundamental poses with modifications available for all different levels in a simplified and easy to digest format. There will also be Pranayama/Breathwork practices, leaving you feeling fully rejuvenated for the day ahead!

Recordings will be available if you're unable to attend the live sessions and you can find details on how to book your space HERE. Please email me at info@ashtangayogaireland.ie with any questions.

Looking forward to seeing you on your mats on these bright Summer mornings!
