January is here and it seems that everyone is busily making new year resolutions. To me, resolution making seems like another ‘should’ in a life full of shoulds – a demand for more effort in a world already requiring so much fortitude. Personally, I prefer to take the edge off resolution making, beginning the new year with a little more ease. I always feel so grateful to have this transformative practice in my life. Ashtanga yoga does not promise us a life without hardship or pain but it does give us a tool to keep the mind and body steady throughout life’s ups and downs. I urge you all to fulfill your good intentions by simply nurturing your practice for the year ahead.

The Key Principles of Back Bending Workshop

An in-depth exploration into the integration of healthy alignment techniques and the development of stamina to stay through the intensity of backbends and front stretches.
We will be moving through core elements of the Primary and the first half of the Intermediate series to help you understand the breakdown and dynamics of developing correctly aligned front stretches and deeper backbends. The dynamic movement mechanics of bending your spine are the key to limitless flows of energy and in this workshop, you will begin to explore your natural potential for backbends and front stretches with safety and support.
Suitable for all levels with some prior experience of the Ashtanga Primary Series.
